Brief History of the Temple

The Shree Sanatan Dharma Prachar Mandal, Sector 18-C, Chandigarh, was established in the year 1966, by Shri A. K. Kaul serves as Patron, Shri Ram Lal Issar as President, Shri Madan Mohan Gupta and Shri S. Vidya Rattan as Vice Presidents, Shri Kewal Krishan as Secretary, Shri Vishwa Mittar Sharma as Joint Secretary, Shri Ramesh Nanda as Cashier, Shri Kuldeep Chand Chatarth as Auditor, and Shri K. R. Chaudhry, Shri J. R. Goyal, and Smt. Sharmeela Kaushal as Members.

The constitution of the Mandal was formally adopted on June 12, 1967. 

The Land for construction of the Mandir was allotted by Chandigarh Administration on 21st March 1974. Thereafter, Shree Radha Krishan Mandir was constructed on the land so allotted. The Mandir has been known with the said name thereafter.

The following had been the objectives with which the Mandal was established:

• Promoting Sanatan Dharam;
• Establishing a temple in Sector 18-C, Chandigarh;
• Working for the spiritual upliftment, promoting social harmony among devotees having belief in the Sanatan Dharam;
• Organizing religious festivals;
• Organizing Bhandaras;
• Providing assistance to the needy.
